Greater New York Speaker Series Hosted By JNFuture and Lawyers for Israel Society
July 25, 2013 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Featured Speaker: Richard Bernstein
Richard Bernstein is a pro bono attorney, University of Michigan professor, and champion for disability rights. He has devoted his career to fighting for those without a voice and for those who otherwise cannot afford legal representation. Blind since birth, Richard uses athletics as a metaphor for life while breaking down stereotypes. He has completed 17 marathons, an Ironman, and the Israman Triathlon in Eilat, Israel. In 2010, Richard visited Sderot to meet with survivors of terrorist attacks to discuss his advocacy work, his fight for the rights of people with disabilities, and ways in which victims of terror can cope with their disabilities.
Refreshments will be served.
