May 7, 2013 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Hosted at a private residence
21st Century Pioneers: Developing Communities in the Negev
Guest Speaker: Yedidya Harush
Yedidya Harush, JNF-Halutza liaison, was born and raised in the community of Atzmona in Gush Katif. After being evacuated from Gush Katif during Israel’s disengagement from Gaza in 2005, Yedidya’s family relocated to the newly founded community of Halutza. Located in the northwest Negev on Israel’s borders with Egypt and Gaza, Halutza, which had never been inhabited or farmed, is now a rapidly expanding agricultural region, attracting new residents from throughout Israel.
JNFuture Education Chair: Jonathan Gertman
