Featured Speaker: Ambassador Norman Eisen
Ambassador (ret.) Norman Eisen is a Visiting Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution, where his research focuses on good political and corporate governance. He previously served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic and in the White House as Special Counsel to the President for Ethics and Government. Ambassador Eisen was a litigation partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm Zuckerman Spaeder and is the co-founder of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), a government watchdog group. His book, The Last Palace, a history of European hyper-nationalism and anti-Semitism over the past hundred years, will be published by Random House/Crown.
The son of a Czechoslovak Holocaust survivor, he will discuss the phenomena of recurring, long-standing European hyper-nationalism, the anti-Semitism and other types of hate that are borne from it, how it is shaping the current refugee crisis, and the reactions to it in context of the recent terror attacks in Paris.
The Ambassador Max M. Kampelman Society on Law and Politics is part of the national JNF Lawyers for Israel Society.
