Margaret has chaired many major benefits, including The Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland, Great Lakes Theatre and The Ahuja Medical Center Gala. She has served on numerous boards in the Cleveland and Jewish Community, including The Contemporary Arts Society of The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Mandel Jewish Community Center of Cleveland, Montefiore Home, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland. She has chaired the Women’s Division of Israel Bonds and the Women’s Division of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland. She was an original board member of the Ahuja Medical Center and serves on four councils and the board of University Hospital. Larry has spent most of his career helping those with Macular and Retinal Disease and has been a principle investigator in over 120 clinical trials of new treatments. He founded the Macula Society, an international association for the best in his field, and is Vice Chair for clinical activities of the dean’s committee of Case Western Reserve Medical School. He also served as chairman of the Physicians Division of the Jewish Federation of Cleveland, as President of the Ohio and Cleveland Ophthalmologic Societies and as President of the Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland. Margaret and Larry are proud to be the next Co-Chairs of the University Hospital Art Leadership Council, along with their daughter Stacy.

They are humbled to receive the Tree of Life™ Award, and excited to return to Israel to support JNF’s endeavors. The Singermans consider their greatest legacy to be their children, Stacy of Cleveland, Seth and Dana of Chicago and their grandchildren Serena, Sloane and Grant, who are following in their humanitarian footsteps.

Avnet Kleiner is Development Director in the U.S. for Aleh Negev-Nahalat Eran, a state-of-the-art rehabilitative village in Southern Israel and a JNF partner. Each person who comes through Aleh Negev’s doors receives the care they need to reach their full potential, empowering each resident and outpatient to achieve their greatest degree of independence. The work JNF does for people with disabilities and special needs helps ensure that everyone, regardless of individual challenges, is able to feel that they are not only supported, but that they belong.

Robert Cait is a Jewish stand-up comic who has earned the prestigious title of “George Carlin with a kippah.” Cait’s comedy routine has taken him across North America, from Montreal to Las Vegas.

Cait uses Jewish comic relief to connect with Jewish audiences at their deepest and most hysterical levels. His acts are sprinkled with Hebrew and Yiddish, making him one of the most unique and sought after Jewish comedians performing today. In addition to comedy routines, Cait’s voice talents have also landed him in countless films, television series, and recognizable commercials. He has been lauded by critics for his comedy on MTV, A&E, and Comedy Central and has been in several films honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
