Project Baseball Reception
This event was originally scheduled for July 13, 2016 but is being rescheduled for September. Please check back for more information.
Ezra was a Boston area high-school grad who was tragically killed in a 2015 terrorist attack in Israel. Ezra was passionate about baseball and was a skilled player. Shortly before the attack, Ezra had reached out to the Israel Association of Baseball (IAB) requesting to join the Premier League for the Spring Season. JNF is proud to partner with the IAB to construct a new baseball field in Ra’anana, Israel that will be dedicated in memory of Ezra.
There is no way to fully express the gaping hole Ezra Schwartz’s murder in a terror attack in Israel this past November left in the lives of his family and friends, and the Sharon and Boston communities.
The 18 year old’s passion for chesed (kindness), volunteering and sports enabled him to touch the lives of many people. JNF will honor Ezra’s memory and preserve his legacy.
Ezra’s values are mirrored in the goals of Project Baseball, which gives the children of Israel an opportunity to learn life lessons while building lasting friendships. The new field will help strengthen the community and provide children with important, and fun, learning opportunities such as building sportsmanship, fostering teamwork, and cultivating confidence.
