Dr. Barry Levine

Dr. Barry Levine has been an active member of the Tampa Bay community since moving here in late 1980. He has a deep love of the arts and theatre, and served as Chairman of the Board of The Loft Theatre for many years. Since the theatre’s assimilation as the resident group at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center (now the Straz Center), he has served on their Board of Trustees and Executive Board. He has also served as Chairman of their Development Committee’s annual campaign, and for the past 3 years as Chairman of the Education Committee, which oversees the Patel Conservatory. Dr. Levine and his wife, Gina are the current Co-Chairs of the Straz Center’s 30th Anniversary Broadway Ball.

Through Dr. Levine’s involvement in the arts, he and his company, Florida Health Care News, have twice received the Tampa Bay Business Community for Culture and the Arts Small Business Award, and was a national finalist for Americans for the Arts /Business Committees for Culture and the Arts Award in the same category.

Dr. Levine is a longtime supporter of Jewish National Fund, and Florida Health Care News has been a major sponsor of Doctors for Israel. He and his wife have been sponsors of the Tampa Bay’s Greater Seder since its inception and have also supplied high quality Kosher for Passover wines for the Seders.

Over the years Dr. Levine has also been involved with many other organizations, including the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, Hospice, and The Tampa Theatre.
