Rich Cohen wowed a packed crowd on December 2nd at the JNF House with stories from his new book Israel is Real. The audience consisted of a diverse mix of long-time JNF supporters and many new faces. Cohen read several selections from Israel is Real, interspersed with anecdotes about his writing process. He relayed that in his research for Israel is Real, he discovered how instrumental JNF was to the creation of the State of Israel. He also shared an early childhood memory of filling a JNF tzedakah box. At the end of his lecture, he answered a few heated questions from audience members about the future of the State of Israel and spent over half an hour after the lecture answering further questions. He signed several copies of his book, including one for Russell Robinson, JNF's CEO. Given the success of this evening, keep an eye out for future JNF programs of this nature in the New York area. |
