JNFuture, Jewish National Fund's young philanthropy division, recently hosted its third-annual Shabbat in the Park at the beautiful Central Park Zoo. Over 350 young philanthropists celebrated the connection between conservation, Israel, and the environment under the stars. Co-chaired by Brooke Goldstein and Daniel Hassid, Shabbat in the Park raised funds for the Rainwater Harvesting Program to build a water conservation system and education program for the diverse Ge'ulim School in Jerusalem. The evening's keynote speaker was Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev, who spoke of the importance of the next generation to continue to focus on Israel's role as a global environmental leader and light unto the nations. |
