In a red, white, and blue festooned room, Army, Navy, and Air Force Veterans--mostly from the U.S. Armed Forces--were applauded, lauded and feted at JNF House. Jewish National Fund celebrated Veteran's Day with guest of honor Max Fuchs, a WWII veteran who, in 1944, led the first Jewish prayer service in Aachen, Germany, since the advent of Hitler. Max recounted his fascinating story and Col. (res) Sharon Davidovich told a more recent story of serving in the Israel Defense Forces. He informed everyone attending this wonderful event about JNF's Wall of Honor at Ammunition Hill in Jerusalem where Jewish soldiers throughout time and from around the world are being honored for their courage and commitment. |
