Over 150 people attended to support Israel and the Environment
JNF hosted its 5th Annual Walk for Water in the Capital District on Sunday, October 26. Over 150 people in the community came out to support JNF’s commitment and dedication to water renewal projects in Israel.
The day was full of fun and educational activities for children and adults to learn more about JNF’s vital work and its many amazing achievements. JNF has been at the forefront of water management and conservation in Israel for over two decades, increasing the country’s total water supply by 12% and helping Israel become a world leader in water recycling.
The event also marked the first in Robert Ganz’s new term as President of JNF’s Capital District Board. "Despite grey skies and intermittent rain more than 100 religious school children and 50 adults attended the event and had the opportunity to learn about JNF and participate in our fundraising efforts, which surpassed all previous years’ efforts," Ganz shared.
"It was gratifying to see the level of understanding of Israel’s water related issues and JNF’s solutions which the interactive program generated," he continued. "At the end of the event, all of the children clamored for a Blue Box and vowed to fill it up with change just as I and the other Board members had done some 50 years ago when we were students in religious schools. It was a really wonderful cross-generational feeling."
