Howard Wexler to Become New Co-President of Jewish National Fund Atlanta Board

Atlanta, GA - Jewish National Fund (JNF) today announced that beginning on October 1, Howard Wexler will serve as co-president of the Southeast Board of Directors alongside Alan S. Wolk.

“We are thrilled that Howard has chosen to take the helm in advancing JNF’s commitment to the land and people of Israel,” said Southeast Regional Director Beth Gluck. “He is a strategic thinker, a hard worker and dedicated to Israel’s security, prosperity and sustainability.  People respect him and are eager to work with him.”

“JNF took an idea and helped make it into the homeland for Jews everywhere,” said Wexler. “Today, JNF continues to nurture Israel and help it reach its full potential.  I want to do what I can to make Israel a better place for everyone who lives there and for those who want to visit.  I can think of no better way to do this than to assist JNF achieve its mission.”

Wexler was born in Erie, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign and both his Juris Doctorate and LL.M. in Tax from Emory University. His professional career has focused on legal, management and executive roles for various financial services companies.  He was General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of American Security Insurance Group as well as Chief Executive Officer of ALAC. In 2002 he was recruited to serve as General Counsel and Managing Director of Balboa Insurance Group in Irvine, California.

Since his return to Atlanta, he has assisted several non-profit organizations including the Atlanta Chapter of the Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces and the Jewish Educational Loan Fund.  He has also selected films and served on the steering committee of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. As a volunteer with Jewish Family & Career Services he helped refugee families from Iraq and Eretria become acclimated to their new lives in Atlanta.

Wexler currently resides in Sandy Springs, Georgia with his wife, Sharon. They have two adult children, Emily and Julie, who live with their families in Chicago.
