Alan B. Katz has studied, written and spoken extensively around the country about Israel and Middle Eastern politics. His interest and frequent travel to Israel laid the groundwork for his seminal books: Fighting Back: Letters from the Diaspora and For The Record: Israel and the Palestinians. For three decades Mr. Katz has written articles on the Middle East conflict and has been published in both print and on-line media. His writings have appeared on blogs such as “Think Israel” and “Zion.net.” To increase his understanding of the Middle East, Mr. Katz received a certificate from Me’ah, a two-year intensive adult Jewish learning program of Hebrew Union College and Combined Jewish Philanthropies' Commission on Jewish Continuity & Education. (At his first Me’ah class, when the class was asked why we were there, Mr. Katz didn’t miss a beat: “Because Israel is my passion.”) He has appeared on television and radio and addressed groups of 20-150 people around the country.
