Hilary Krieger is the Washington Bureau Chief for The Jerusalem Post, Israel’s English-language daily newspaper. In Washington, she writes about White House, State Department, Pentagon and Congressional policy on Israel, the wider Middle East and the Jewish community. She also covers politics and has spent extensive time on the campaign trail for the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections.
Hilary has appeared as an analyst on national and international TV and radio, including ABC, MSNBC, CTV, CSPAN and Voice of America. Her work has been published in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Boston Phoenix and various other publications.
Hilary moved back to the United States in 2006 after spending five years in Israel. At The Jerusalem Post she covered beats including diplomacy, immigration, social issues and world Jewry. In addition, she served as the Israel correspondent for the radio program Marketplace broadcast on NPR, reporting on the Israeli economy, Palestinian society and the Arab world.
Before she moved to Israel, Hilary covered city hall and state house politics for The Boston Herald and the 2000 New Hampshire presidential primaries for The Concord Monitor. She also spent time in London, where she worked as a reporter and co-wrote a book on eclipses. Hilary began her career in journalism as the editor-in-chief of The Cornell Daily Sun.
Hilary has interviewed world leaders and cultural icons, reported from bomb shelters and the Siberian hinterlands, traveled to more than 40 countries and 40 states and lived in five capital cities. She grew up in Boston and is a life-long member of Red Sox Nation.
