Topics:JNF's Work in Israel, Positively Israel
Since its establishment, RMTRC- operated solely by the Israeli licensed non-profit and supportively partnered with JNF, has become a unique center of green pasture in the desert terrain which features not only the 21 horses bred and raised at our facility but also a handicapped equipped playground and bathroom facilities, a learning center, as well as an after-school center for children with special needs. RMTRC has grown in enrollment from 15 riders in the initial phase to over 200 riders in the 2013-2014 term.
Jill is also Program Coordinator for a special “Day of Studies Program” in which pre-k, kindergarten, elementary and high school students of special education classes and after school programs attend with their teaching staff. Jill and the team of RMTRC work intensively with every child who receives a weekly therapeutic riding session planned to meet his/her specific needs in individual or group riding. In addition and depending on ability, the riders get to care for the animals in the petting zoo and partake in ranch work. My work as a therapist is made possible and enhanced by our many devoted volunteers.
Jill is mother to two girls and has been passionate about horses since childhood. She lives in the middle of the Arava desert – very different form her English roots and tries desperately to cultivate a green garden!
