He toured with Jon Stewart. He co-led combat operations against Hezbollah. His memoir, The 188th Crybaby Brigade, was a best-seller.
And now he could be coming to you.
Joel Chasnoff is a stand-up comedian and writer with stage and screen credits in nine countries. His comedy is hip, clean and—best of all—based on real Jewish experiences, like his stint on the Solomon Schechter basketball team and his tour-of-duty in the IDF. Joel has performed at more than 1,000 colleges, clubs and Jewish organizations worldwide and has been seen on NBC and ABC TV.
Motivated by his love for Israel, Joel joined the IDF after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. He was assigned to the Armored Corps and was voted Outstanding Soldier of the Company. At the conclusion of Tank School, Joel’s unit deployed to South Lebanon, where they conducted search-and-destroy missions against Hezbollah.
In February 2010, Simon and Schuster published The 188th Crybaby Brigade, Joel’s comedic memoir about his service in the IDF. The L.A. Jewish Journal called Crybaby Brigade “Laugh out loud funny!” Kirkus Reviews dubbed it, “Horrifyingly hilarious.”
