Geri Shatz is the former chair of the Sapphire Society as well as a formner president of Jewish National Fund’s Bucks County region. The daughter of Holocaust escapees who each fled Vienna as a teenager and made a new life in the United States, commitment to democracy and the mitzvot of tzedakah and tikkum olam continues to form the ethos of her home.
Geri was president of Congregation Kol Emet, a Reconstructionist synagogue, and now chairs its endowment. She has also served on the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Bucks County Region for many years, as well as on the board of Israel Bonds.
A graduate of Tufts University and the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in art history, Geri is the author of Concepts of the Bauhaus. Following a change in career accomplished with a degree in accounting and finance from the College of New Jersey, her accounting work specializes in the needs of the oldest old. She also serves in an advisory capacity to two lifecare communities in Bucks County.
Geri has three adult sons and lives in New York.
