Michael Kessler moved into the Dix Hills community 18 years ago and has been affiliated with the Dix Hills Jewish Center for over 13 years.
Michael a CPA by training is employed by Levine Builders and Affiliated Entities (LBAE), a NYC real estate development firm, where he serves as Executive Vice President in charge of Financial Operations. He is also an active member of Dix Hills Jewish Center where he currently serves as Vice President as well as Men’s Club Vice President and member of various other committees. He previously served as treasurer. When not at LBAE or signing checks at the temple he is a member of the Long Island’s Jewish National Fund Board where he served as mission chair of the 60 Anniversary trip to celebrate Israel's Independence and recently was named to its Makor speaker’s bureau. He also serves as a Vice President of the Queens Bronx Builders Association, member of Associate Board of Parker Jewish Institute serving as immediate past co-Chairman of the board. Michael also served on the Corporate Council of Long Island American Cancer Society’s Board, chaired Hadassah’s West Suffolk Achot’s Associate Board where he is a Keeper of the Gate. He also served as a board member of American Jewish Committee where he attended a young leaders national conference in Sedona, Arizona. He has served as dinner and luncheon chairs of many charities gala events including JCRC of New York, Boy Scouts of America, Jewish National Fund Tree of Life Dinner and ORT. Recently Michael along with his wife accepted UJA’s community leadership award at its 2011.
When not busy donating time and energy to various charitable causes, Michael and his wife Ronnit, an industrial engineer at Karp Associates, enjoy spending time and traveling with family as well as getting together with friends. He is the proud father of Alana (15) who attends Half Hollow High School West and Koryn (12) who attends Candlewood Middle School. Most especially they enjoy quiet weekends in the mountains of Northern New Jersey at their vacation retreat.
