Myra Chack Fleischer is a Family Law attorney in San Diego California. She founded her own firm Fleischer & Associates, Attorneys at Law in 2001. The firm focuses on divorce, property, custody and support, settlement agreements and mediation, and asset division. The firm also offers Bankruptcy and Probate and Estate Planning Services. Myra has practiced law in San Diego since 1997. She is a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. Originally from Philadelphia, Myra and her Husband moved to San Diego in 1993.

She contributes countless hours of pro bono service to the community including those who could not otherwise access legal advice or representation. Myra has been a member of the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program since 1997, the region’s oldest and largest pro bono legal services program. She serves as a volunteer legal counselor with the Project SARAH Domestic Violence Clinic, a program of Jewish Family Services of San Diego; and is a board member of the Women’s Leadership Institute in San Diego.

Myra has been involved in the Jewish community since she lived in Philadelphia. Her previous service includes the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, multiple roles with the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and involvement with the Board of Directors of the American Jewish Congress of Philadelphia.  She now serves in multiple leadership roles for Congregation Beth Am, a leading Conservative Jewish presence in San Diego County including Vice President of the Board of Directors; Education Committee Chair; Women’s Connection Committee; and Budget Committee.

Myra has served as a member of the Board of Directors for JNF in San Diego since 2010 and is now proud to serve as Board President. She credits her love of Israel and her avid Zionism to a family heritage that dates back to her maternal great grandfather who became a member of the Zionist movement in November 1897 when the first Zionist Congress was held in Basel Switzerland.

Myra and her husband Charlie, and their children Nathan, Jordan, and Sara live in San Diego.

Makor (Hebrew for “source”) is a specially-trained cadre of highly-involved Jewish National Fund volunteers. Our primary role is to support the core functions of JNF by direct fundraising. Thus, we identify prospective donors, conduct direct solicitations in our own communities and around the United States and assist in educating the public about the JNF and its projects.

Makor also serves as a source for lay leadership. We are leaders in our own communities, and provide training and inspiration for other community leaders on solicitation techniques, board development and outreach and on the work of the JNF. Makor members also assume JNF leadership positions on a national level.

We are proud leaders who are committed to the mission of the JNF, the caretaker of the land of Israel forever. In addition, Makor is a source of innovation within the JNF. Our diverse backgrounds, coupled with our common commitment, foster a free-flow of ideas to keep JNF as relevant and productive as possible.

Makor members travel to Israel each year to study JNF projects and programs in depth, and bring their insights and experiences to you. Members speak at no charge.
