Ruth Eglash is the Deputy Managing Editor of The Jerusalem Post and a senior correspondent covering social affairs stories.

She is currently involved in integrating a new media strategy into Israel’s oldest and best-known English-language daily newspaper. For the past four months she has been working closely with editorial and internet staff to develop a social media strategy, encouraging some of the more veteran and seasoned journalists to become involved in these new media platforms.

In terms of writing, Ruth’s articles focus on all the people of Israel and the social struggles they face. Some of the topics that she has written about include the continuing plight of Holocaust survivors, victims of human trafficking, migrants and immigrants and children at risk.

Ruth also covers all social media aspects of the Jewish world and how developing technology is affecting Israel.

As well as working at The Jerusalem Post for the past 13 years, Ruth often contributes to Jewish and international publications, including The Jewish Chronicle, UK, Jewish Telegraph Agency, The Jewish Week in New York, Christian Science Monitor and the Search for Common Ground News Service, which is published online in seven languages.

In 2010, Ruth became the first recipient of the X-Cultural Reporting Awards from the United Nation’s Alliance of Civilizations and the International Center for Journalists for her joint reporting efforts with Jordanian journalist Hani Hazaimeh of The Jordan Times.
