Western Zone Director, Jewish National Fund
Sherri has been with Jewish National Fund since 1998, initially as a Major Gifts Director in Los Angeles, and then as a Zone Director for the Western United States. In this capacity she supervises and manages campaigns throughout the West (7 separate and distinct cities) via personal solicitations, board development, volunteer relationships and training. In many ways her success is attributed to strategic fundraising planning, staff team building, and the ability to develop and maintain long term lay leadership relationships.
Sherri completed her masters in Jewish Communal Service at Hebrew Union College (HUC) in 1976 and was awarded an honorary doctorate in 2002. Her undergraduate work focused on public speaking and group dynamics.
Prior to being with JNF, Sherri worked in independent schools in development and marketing. She served as Director of Development at the Baltimore Symphony, the Tufts New England School of Medicine and has been a fundraising consultant for legal rights & other small new non-profits. Sherri worked at National UJA and the Los Angeles Federation. She has led numerous Israel missions and has a keen interest in staff professional development and board development. Sherri has taught fundraising at HUC, Brandeis, and other adult education institutions, including the Cambridge Center for Education. She has three sons, and three grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys creative writing, reading and swimming.
