Yaakov Katz is the military correspondent and defense analyst for The Jerusalem Post and the Israel correspondent for Jane’s Defence Weekly, the international military magazine.
His first book “Israel vs. Iran – The Shadow War” was published in Israel in May, 2011 and was a national bestseller. It will be published in the US in May 2012.
Katz led the Post’s coverage of the recent IDF wars and operations including the Second Lebanon War against Hezbollah in 2006 and Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip in 2009.
Originally from Chicago, Katz moved to Israel in 1993 and served in the IDF Armored Corps. He lectures widely on military affairs, lives in Jerusalem with his wife and three daughters and has a law degree from Bar-Ilan University.
