October 2, 2013 -- New York, NY -- Jewish National Fund (JNF) proudly announces Jeffrey E. Levine as the new National President.

As one of the youngest presidents in JNF’s 112-year history, he continues an era for the non-profit that gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people – young, vibrant and as relevant as ever. Levine has served as a member of the New York Board, New York President, and as a member of JNF’s National Board of Directors.

“JNF knows how to build; it has built 1,000 parks, 225 reservoirs, new communities across Israel, the largest Zionist education program in the U.S., and so much more,” said Levine. “But beyond that, it has built the strongest connection and partnership between Jews the world over and our Jewish homeland. It has given generations a voice in Israel – whether they live there or not – and I am proud to take on the role of National President.”

Professionally, Levine is Chairman of Douglaston Development, Levine Builders & Clinton Management, and has directed the new construction or rehabilitation of millions of square feet of commercial retail, office and institutional space since founding the companies in 1979. Currently, he sits on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors for the Real Estate Board of New York, is the Vice Chair of the Associated Builders & Owners of Greater New York, and sits on multiple other boards. Levine was born and raised in Brooklyn and now lives in Manhattan with wife Randi as do their three children, all of whom are very active in JNFuture, the young leadership arm of JNF.

“Jeff brings with him a passion and dedication to JNF that will only allow the organization to continue to thrive,” said JNF Chairman of the Board Ronald S. Lauder. “He has always been one of Israel’s great advocates and we are honored and excited that he will now have the opportunity to lead this organization and play a commanding role in its vision and with all of our lay leadership.”

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
