JEWISH NATIONAL FUND TO MATCH DOLLARS ON GIVING TUESDAY
JNF Projects Help Improve Quality of Life in Populations Across the Globe

New York, NY: Nov. 19, 2015Jewish National Fund (JNF) today announced that it will again take part in the universal #GivingTuesday campaign on Dec. 1, and that gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $250,000.

“Taking part in GivingTuesday is a ‘no brainer,’ as it’s all about aiding the human family and that is what we are all about,” says JNF CEO Russell F. Robinson. “We are on the ground in Israel each day enhancing afforestation, creating green and sustainable innovations, and developing the smart reuse of water, among other important work. That technology is now shared with populations across the world to improve the quality of life for all.”

With a global water crisis impacting every corner of the planet, JNF has introduced Water Summits in U.S. cities to share how JNF has bolstered Israel’s water economy, which has been at the forefront of water solutions for several decades. JNF has played a central role in Israel’s water achievements, and continues to do so today by developing alternative water sources, saving the economy millions every year, advancing Israeli agriculture, and improving environmental water quality. It is this information that now helps people in China, India, and throughout Africa.

For over a century, JNF has built a reputation as a forward-thinking organization that has helped protect the Jewish homeland and transform lives in Israel. Throughout #GivingTuesday, JNF’s partners in Israel will be featured prominently on the organization’s social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to showcase JNF’s work expanding the scope of river rehabilitation and water research, exploring energy production, making parks and playgrounds accessible to people with special needs, building new communities in the desert, providing new medical, scientific, educational, and economic development opportunities, and much more.

JNF’s programs and projects also help grow tourism, bolster employment, make Israel’s southern and northern areas a desirable place to both visit and live, and grow future leadership in the global teenage community through the Alexander Muss High School in Israel.

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
