David Goodtree, a Needham MA resident, was recently named to Jewish National Fund’s Makor Speaker’s Bureau.
Makor is an elite leadership, solicitation and training group comprised of JNF volunteers who travel across the country to speak to groups and individuals about JNF’s work for the land and people of Israel. Makor members are articulate, passionate and well-versed on JNF’s projects, initiatives and services through personal research, training retreats and annual missions to Israel.
Goodtree works with non-profits on strategic planning and marketing. He currently serves as an officer of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Boston and as a member of the executive committee of Harvard Hillel. He is actively involved with Israel advocacy and fundraising for organizations such as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and the Jewish National Fund.
“Helping JNF to build Israel’s infrastructure is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Goodtree. “These are the pioneering days of creating new communities in the Negev, and I’m eager to spread that excitement here in New England.”
Makor is comprised of 32 members from across the country each of whom contribute a minimum of $5,000 and attend a yearly leadership conference in the States and a mission to Israel to learn firsthand about JNF’s work. Many have taken on leadership roles within the organization and through Makor share their knowledge with the general public.
"David is a wonderful addition to the JNF family," said Sharon Freedman, JNF's New England Zone director, "and we are honored to have him as a part of our growing community.”
To book a Makor member please contact Joel L. Leibowitz (Northeast Zone Director, Director of Makor) at 973-593-0095 or email@example.com.

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.
JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.
JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
