Join Jewish National Fund on the L’Dor V’Dor Family Mission to Israel

Contact: Sidney Rivkin • JNF Wisconsin Regional Director • 414-963-8733 • srivkin@jnf.org

October 24, 2008 -- Milwaukee, WI -- From December 24, 2008 - January 1, 2009, Jewish National Fund will host the L’Dor V’Dor Family Mission to Israel

With over 100 years of experience as caretaker of the land of Israel, no one knows Israel better than JNF. JNF missions go above and beyond the classic tourist experience, offering a firsthand look at JNF’s critical work in Israel and providing access to sites not found on most typical itineraries.

This special mission, designed for families, will include a visit to Timna Park, with its stunning copper mines, lake and breathtaking mountain views; a cable car ride to the top of Masada and down to the shores of the Dead Sea; a meeting with modern-day pioneers living in new JNF communities in the Negev; and a trip to the Ayalon Institute, a clandestine bullet factory from the 1940s.  Participants will also plant a tree with their own hands at a JNF forest.

Because of JNF’s commitment to connecting the next generation to Israel, all mission participants under the age of 45 will receive a $1,000 subsidy, making it easier for families to visit Israel together.

For more information or to register for the JNF L’Dor V’Dor Mission, contact Sidney Rivkin at 414-963-8733 srivkin@jnf.org.

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
