JNF Launches New, More User-Friendly Website

Contact: Jodi Bodner • JNF Director of Communications • 212-879-9305 ext. 221 • jbodner@jnf.org

February 9, 2009 -- New York, NY -- Nearly a year after beginning a massive redesign process, Jewish National Fund (JNF) is proud and excited to launch its new website: http://www.jnf.org/.

Partnering with Convio's Client Success Services group, the creation of the site was a 10-month task during which JNF conducted surveys with more than 1,000 donors and lay leaders to help make strategic decisions about the content and organization of the site. Experts were consulted for best practices on constructing the new site to be as user-friendly as possible. But the most notable advancement is the implementation of a content management system (CMS) that allows close monitoring of visitors' movements on the site to ensure that they are presented with personalized content that is of interest to them. The CMS allows for better search capabilities, so users can locate content more easily. JNF’s ranking on search engines will improve as a result.

As the number one e-philanthropy organization in the Jewish world, JNF continues to raise the bar for bringing in money online, while enabling people to learn about its important work in Israel.

“Our leadership in e-philanthropy is an important factor in the growth of our campaign in dollar and donors,” said JNF Chief Executive Officer Russell F. Robinson. “Our website is considered an event that one enters to experience and learn about JNF and our vast activities for the land and people of Israel. This new design has been developed by our donors and incorporates their thoughts, assuring that people who click through enjoy the best experience possible. The technology is testament to our commitment to our donors and to Israel. Click on http://www.jnf.org/. We want to hear what you think.”

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
