Contact: Sarit Schonbrun • JNF Communications Manager • 212-879-9305 ext. 222 • sschonbrun@jnf.org

November 24, 2009—New York, NY—Jewish National Fund (JNF) was presented with the Innovator Award in the Best Website category for its strategy and development of its new website at the fourth annual Convio Client Summit in Austin, TX.

"JNF has always been a leader in online fundraising among Jewish non-profits," said Bud Levin, vice president of marketing for JNF. "It is gratifying to be recognized in the greater philanthropic world."

Partnering with Convio's Client Success Services group, JNF redesigned its website after 10-months of stakeholder and constituent research to create a more dynamic, personalized experience. The new site has enabled the creation of new online initiatives to improve education and awareness, while leveraging integrated fundraising tools to better engage donors and create a consistent web presence across all online properties.

“We are delighted to be recognized as the Best Website category award winner as we have seen significant improvement in our success and awareness since launching our new site,” said Linda Wenger, executive director of marketing and communications at JNF. “With the site redesign and enhanced online tools, we can now better interact with our established supporter base, as well as engage a new generation of younger, more web-savvy supporters that we were not able to reach in the past.”

Nine other nonprofits received Innovator Awards from Convio, the leading provider of online marketing, fundraising, advocacy and constituent relationship management software and services to nonprofit organizations.

Jewish National Fund (JNF) began in 1901 collecting coins in blue boxes to purchase land and return the Jewish people to their homeland. In over 109 years, JNF has evolved into a global environmental leader and become the central address for partnering with the land and people of Israel. JNF has planted 250 million trees; built over 1,000 parks and recreational areas; constructed security roads; educated students around the world about Israel; created new communities so that Jews from around the world would have a place to call home; discovered new means of growing plants under arid conditions, bringing green to the desert; and built over 200 reservoirs and water recycling centers, increasing Israel’s water supply by 10%. Today, JNF is supporting Israel’s newest generation of pioneers by bringing life to the Negev Desert, Israel’s last frontier.

A United Nations NGO, JNF sponsors international conferences on desertification, shares afforestation techniques, and funds research on arid land management. JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers. For more information on JNF, call 888-JNF-0099 or visit www.jnf.org
