March 6, 2012 – New York, NY – Jewish National Fund (JNF) is proud to announce the launch of a new society, Rabbis for Israel, which unites rabbis of all movements and political positions to demonstrate their commitment to Israel through the work of JNF.
A way to stand together with Israel supporters and be recognized publicly within the Jewish community, Rabbis for Israel welcomes support for JNF’s new Positively Israel campaign, which is dedicated to changing the way the world talks about Israel.
“Rabbis as community leaders must continue to lead the way,” said Rabbi Dr. Eric M. Lankin, JNF’s Chief of Institutional Advancement and Education. “It is time to lead a new conversation about how Israel—a global leader in renewable energy, agricultural innovation, and medical breakthroughs—makes the world a better place. JNF continues to make a unique contribution to Israel in its Blueprint Negev campaign and its efforts to address Israel’s severe water crisis. These efforts are not only improving the quality of life in Israel but are viewed as models to improve living conditions around the world.”
Membership in JNF Rabbis for Israel requires a minimum $1,000 contribution to JNF’s campaign. Benefits include a listing of the rabbi’s name and congregation on JNF’s website, a listing in an annual ad and press release of participating JNF Rabbis for Israel members, $100 in EZ-Tree account credits, access to webinars, an invitation to attend JNF’s annual National Conference, and early notice on registration for JNF’s Taglit-Birthright Israel, Alternative Break and Alexander Muss High School in Israel.

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.
JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.
JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
