JNF HOSTS ANNUAL LUNCHEON FOR MAJOR DONORS AT SUNDY HOUSE IN DELRAY BEACH

JNF HOSTS ANNUAL LUNCHEON FOR MAJOR DONORS AT SUNDY HOUSE IN DELRAY BEACH

January 15, 2014 — Boca Raton, FL— Jewish National Fund (JNF) hosted its annual luncheon for Sapphire Society members on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Sundy House in Delray Beach. The event was held as a special “thank you” luncheon for this elite group of JNF’s major gift division.

The women of JNF’s Sapphire Society share a special bond through their commitment to Zionism, and are part of an exclusive group of leaders helping to strengthen the homeland — one community, one project, one family at a time. In 10 years, the Sapphire Society has raised over $20 million for a wide variety of projects in Israel including Aleh Negev Adult Rehabilitative Village, KKL fire trucks and a touring school for LOTEM Integrated Nature Studies, Israel’s leading organization for nature activities for children with disabilities and their families. For an annual $5,000 contribution, each member receives the coveted Sapphire Society Pin.

The luncheon was generously sponsored by Vivian Grossman, JNF Broward Board President and Co-Chair of JNF’s Women’s Alliance. The guests heard from longtime educator Sandra Lilienthal, an adjunct professor at Gratz College.

“Our third Sapphire Thank You luncheon was such a great success!” said Grossman. “The women in the room represent the best of Jewish women's giving and are doing all they can to make sure the State of Israel remains strong. It is through the work we do at JNF that we ensure Israel moves forward.”

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
