April 16, 2013New York, NY – In honor of Israel’s 65th birthday, Jewish National Fund (JNF) debuts a new Israel@65 tree certificate design. This beautiful certificate was designed by Francois Tenenbaum of New York to celebrate 65 years of Israel’s innovations and spirit.

Tenenbaum was inspired by his experience living on an ulpan, a school for intensive study of Hebrew, in Israel.

“I wanted to represent the young and dynamic country I saw as opposed to the typical cliches of tradition and history,” he said. “I discovered Israel as a vibrant, modern democracy with real people going about normal, everyday lives and welcoming all different visions of Judaism. It is a nation with a very rich past, a brilliant present, and most importantly, a promising future.”

JNF held an Israel@65 Certificate Design Contest on its Facebook page in March inviting users to submit artwork via Facebook, Twitter or email. This limited edition Israel@65 certificate will be available from April 2013 until April 2014.

JNF tree certificates are a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion or memorialize a loved one. Visit the JNF store at jnf.org/tree or call 1.800.542.TREE (1.800.542.8733) to purchase one.

JEWISH NATIONAL FUND (JNF) began in 1901 as a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. Jews the world over collected coins in iconic JNF Blue Boxes, purchasing land and planting trees until ultimately, their dream of a Jewish homeland was a reality. JNF gives all generations of Jews a unique voice in building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF embodies both heart and action; our work is varied in scope but singular in benefit. We strive to bring an enhanced quality of life to all of Israel’s residents, and translate these advancements to the world beyond. JNF is greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to call home, bolstering Israel’s water supply, helping develop innovative arid-agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

JNF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and United Nations NGO, which continuously earns top ratings from charity overseers.
