Ben Gutmann (Norwood, NJ) is the founder and CEO of BassTech International, a worldwide distributor of raw materials, which includes chemicals, plastics and synthetic rubbers. Ben is a member of JNF’s Northern New Jersey Board, and in 2009, became Board President, a position which he held for five years. He is chairing the President’s Mission to Israel in November 2015. Ben and his wife are Negev Society and Century Council members. Because of Ben’s deep commitment to Israel, he and his wife, Susan, donated a park through JNF dedicated to the children of Nofey Prat. The park was built in memory of Ben’s grandparents who perished during the Holocaust in Auschwitz in 1943. The dedication was attended by community residents, local dignitaries, and more than 60 family members. In addition, Ben and Susan are now working with LOTEM, a JNF partner that makes nature accessible to those with special needs to build a biblical garden and biblical pathway at their Emek HaShalom Farm near Yoqneam. This project is expected to be completed in 2017. Ben, Susan, and their family are very excited about this new work being done to help those with special needs in Israel. It is gratifying to enable those with special needs to have access to nature.
