Jeffrey Woolf joined our JNF Board of Directors in 2012 and was named to the executive board shortly thereafter in 2014. He became Boston Board President in October of 2015. He is on the National Yerucham Task Force and a member of Lawyers for Israel. He and his wife Mary are Century Council and President’s Society Members. Mary is also a proud Sapphire Society Member. They routinely participate in the President’s Society Mission and would love for you to join them!
Jeffrey spent many years in private practice handling civil litigation. He also served as a Special Assistant Attorney General from 1995-2000, where he represented the Commonwealth in the tobacco Medicaid reimbursement litigation. He left private practice in 2006, serving first as an assistant bar counsel for the Office of the Bar Counsel and more recently, as an assistant general counsel for the Board of Bar Overseers. Since 2012, he has been an adjunct professor at Boston University Law School. He has also previously taught at New England School of Law and at Northeastern University.
Jeffrey focuses his charitable activities on organization, planning and strategic thinking. Since 2006, he has been on the board of Temple Beth Shalom in Melrose, where he currently serves as VP of finance and chairs the investment committee. As a board member, he rewrote the temple by-laws and assisted in refinancing the mortgage to save over $80,000. Since 2008, he has been on the planned giving committee of St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers. In 1990, he was one of the charter members of the Boston Inn of Court, which was started at Boston University Law School. Jeffrey wrote the Inn’s articles of organization and by-laws, and obtained its tax exempt status. He has served on Inn’s executive committee since 2000 and has been the Inn’s co-president as well as the chair of various committees.
Jeffrey received his B.A. from Yale University and his M.A. in English from Boston University, where he taught for several years before attending Boston University Law School, where he obtained his J.D.
Jeffrey and Mary have two adult children and live in Winchester, MA.
