Chief Development Officer
Rick Krosnick has spent two decades raising money to develop the land of Israel and strengthen the Jewish people.
Rick joined JNF in 1999 to manage its fifteen state Midwest operations and in 2007 was tasked with mentoring the development of other JNF regions around the United States. Rick was recently promoted as the organization’s Chief Development Officer.
As a member of JNF’s Executive Management, Rick supervises a newly formed Executive Campaign Development Team, which works in partnership with a Lay Leadership group to develop campaign initiatives, formulate short-term and long-range goals and identify fundraising opportunities in support of JNF’s life-transforming projects in Israel.
Rick began his Jewish communal career in his hometown of Detroit, where he was the Young Leadership Director of the Jewish Federation of Detroit. In 1993, he moved to Chicago to join the United Jewish Appeal traveling throughout the Midwest in support of Israel. During his tenure with UJA, Rick rose through the ranks to eventually become Midwest Major Gifts Director. Following his term at UJA, Rick joined the Jewish United Fund of Chicago to serve as Assistant Vice President of the Trades, Industries and Professions Department.
Rick is a graduate of the prestigious Wexner Heritage Foundation’s two-year course in Jewish Leadership.
Rick’s understanding of Israel and the political and socio-economic tensions of the Middle East were shaped by his work outside of the Jewish community. Beginning in 1985, for a nine-year period both on active-duty and in the reserve forces, Rick was an Intelligence Specialist in the United States Navy, serving aboard the aircraft carriers USS Nimitz and the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Much of Rick’s tenure in the Navy was spent with the U.S. Sixth Fleet operating in the eastern Mediterranean, confronting issues of state-sponsored terrorism and other threats to the security of the United States and our allies.
