Honorary Director
Ruth Popkin (New York, NY) served as President of JNF from 1989 until 1993 and is a Century Council member. She is an honorary Vice President of Hadassah, having served as its 18th National President. She held many important portfolios in her ascent at Hadassah. Currently she is a Director of the American Israel Friendship League. She is a past member of the executive board of AIPAC, the cabinet of the American Zionist Movement, the board of directors of the United Israel Appeal (UIA), and American Friends of Hebrew University. She is a former VP of the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Committee. In 1987 Ruth was the first woman elected as Chair of the Presidium and President of the World Zionist Congress.
