Stanley M. Chesley (Cincinnati, OH), a high profile attorney and President of Waite, Schneider, Bayless & Chesley, has achieved groundbreaking settlements in multiple types of litigation. He has a long history of serving on a number of local and national philanthropic boards including as an officer for UJA, JDC and Israel Bonds. Stanley and his firm served, pro bono, as lead counsel for the World Jewish Congress and the World Jewish Restitution Organization representing the Claims Conference in issues including litigation involving Swiss Banks, German and Austrian Banks and the Hungarian Gold Train in the Holocaust litigation which concluded in a successful resolution of approximately $9 billion. Stanley is a member of the United States Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of Ohio. He has served on the Board of Commissioners of Grievances and Discipline for the Supreme Court of Ohio. He is serving his second term as a member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Cincinnati appointed by the Governor of Ohio. By far, his proudest appointment has been that of President of Jewish National Fund. During his tenure, JNF built the 20,000-square-foot Sderot Indoor Recreation Center and has made great progress in the development of the Be’er Sheva River Park. Stanley is recipient of the Tree of Life™ award, and a member of the Negev Society and World Chairman’s Council.
