Caravan for Democracy empowers high school and college students to become advocates for the State of Israel. Caravan for Democracy is a program of Jewish National Fund and Media Watch International. Caravan for Democracy High School Edition is also co-sponsored by American Friends of Likud.
Caravan for Democracy (CFD) was created in January 2002 by Ronald S. Lauder and Jay Schottenstein to fill a major void on college campuses in facing the rise of anti-Israel acts and propaganda. The program has provided outstanding events on 75 campuses in cities across the United States, bringing more than 50 speakers and reaching over 68,000 students, faculty, and community members.
Caravan for Democracy High School Edition (Caravan HSE) was modeled after the Caravan College Edition. Since its January 2004 inception, Caravan HSE has visited 26 cities, hosted over 225 programs, and reached more than 18,000 teens, educators, and youth directors.
Caravan promotes constructive dialogue about Israel and the Middle East by bringing a cross section of Israeli politicians and diplomats, journalists, professors, and advocacy trainers to discuss the challenges Israel faces.
