The Aronson Family of Boston, MA

The Aronson family’s commitment to JNF is a true testament to the land and people of Israel. Lee Aronson, together with her late husband Norman, were among the founding members of JNF’s Board of Directors in New England. Lee is a committed Century Council and Sapphire Society member and during the winter, she volunteers her time in the Florida Center of Excellence. Her children and their spouses Bunny, Steven & Risa and Nancy & Jimmy—have all found their places within the JNF family.  Bunny and Risa are both proud Sapphire Society members; Steven serves on the New England Board of Directors; and Nancy and Jimmy are big-hearted supporters. In July 2008, Lee Aronson and her family were honored at JNF’s annual charity golf tournament. The event raised necessary funds toward restoring northern Israel and putting JNF's century of experience to work with Blueprint Negev.

The Gendell Family of Chicago, IL

The Gendell Family’s commitment to Zionism and the Land of Israel is an undeniable part of their everyday lives. Jewish National Fund has played an important role for Lisa and Scott Gendell and their family since 2000, when they found themselves yearning for a way to connect to the Jewish homeland upon returning from a trip to Israel. Now President of the Chicago Board, as well as a member of Century Council and the Herzl Society, Scott sees Jewish National Fund as an organization that speaks to his ideals as a Zionist by providing for the broad needs of the Israeli people. Scott and Lisa’s children, Lizzy, Michael, Billy and Sam, have all found their own ways of connecting to Israel through JNF. Lizzy is drawn to the importance of developing Israel’s water and agricultural systems, while Michael has found a connection to work involving inclusion and therapeutic services, such as Aleh Negev. Billy and Lizzy both chose to live in Israel, for a summer and semester respectively. In the summer of 2008, Sam made the important decision to join the Israel Defense Force, a choice that Scott sees as the culmination of the family’s Zionist beliefs. Scott and Lisa feel that it is their personal responsibility to ensure that future generations know the importance of Israel, and Jewish National Fund has served as a vital tool in doing just that.

The Golden Family of Los Angeles, CA

Allen Golden, the patriarch of the Golden family of Los Angeles, remembers growing up with a JNF Blue Box in his home in Chicago. Since then, JNF has been a big part of the Golden family and they are members of many of JNF's major donor societies. Allen and his wife Marilyn always made it a point to encourage their children to get involved in supporting Israel; for the Goldens, JNF was and is the best way to show that support. It was on a JNF mission in 2006 that their daughter Alyse Golden Berkley discovered a meaningful connection to Israel that has deepened over the years. In the words of her sister Francine Golden, Alyse has “turned her life over to Israel, and through that we, as a family, ended up having this love for something [Israel] together.” This love for Israel extends throughout the entire Golden family. Allen and Marilyn's children, sons- and daughter-in-law, and grandchildren are involved with JNF and recently donated money to erect the "Allen and Marilyn Golden Entrance Gate" at the new Be'er Sheva Amphitheatre in Israel. The gate will serve as a tangible tribute to their parents and their family's support of JNF and the land and people of Israel.

Continuing in this tradition, Dr. Irving Taylor, a member of JNF’s World Chairman’s Council and Negev Society, has perpetuated and maintained all of his father’s original contributions to the State of Israel, and sees his role as “keeping up” his father’s commitments to Israel.
