Now You Can Endow the Future of the Jewish Homeland

A century ago, JNF made a promise -- to always be there for the people and the land of Israel. Today, we ask you to join with us to keep that promise, through Jewish National Fund's Endowment Fund.

In December 1901, Theodor Herzl's vision led the Fifth Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland to create Jewish National Fund, which ever since has served as caretaker of the land of Israel on behalf of its owners--Jewish people everywhere. After its establishment, JNF set out to achieve its goal of purchasing the land that would become the state of Israel. Jews from around the world took part by collecting spare change in JNF Blue Boxes in order to turn the dream of a Jewish State into a reality. Alone, Jews could not attain their dream of a return to the Homeland, but together, through Jewish National Fund, they could build a nation.

Over the years, JNF has continued to evolve, meeting Israel's most pressing needs. Following the successful establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, JNF worked to develop the land: planting trees to provide Israel with healthy green space; building infrastructure for essential new communities for Israel's growing population; building access roads to help disperse the population; providing employment for waves of new immigrants; cleaning up Israel's rivers and streams; and building vital reservoirs that have increased Israel's water supply by over 10% even as Israel continues to suffer through the worst drought in recorded history.

Over the past century, JNF has planted over 240 million trees, built over 200 dams and reservoirs, developed over 250,000 acres of land, created more than 1,000 parks throughout Israel and educated students around the world about Israel and the environment.

The JNF Endowment Fund Will Guarantee That Our Mission Continues- Now and Forever

Endowment gifts are different than gifts to JNF's annual campaign. While contributions to the annual campaign are generally spent on current needs, the principal from the JNF Endowment Fund remains intact, providing a permanent source of funds for future generations. As the Endowment Fund grows, the income it generates to fund projects grows as well. Our endowment will become a trust fund for the future of the Jewish homeland and the Jewish people.
