JNF Ambassadors

JNF Ambassadors is a program designed to engage volunteers to provide schools with a direct and meaningful link to Israel and Jewish National Fund.  Two volunteers from every school will be chosen as a JNF Ambassador, one administrator and one parent or teacher (nominated by the administrator). JNF Ambassadors will receive a stipend to attend the 2009 TEVA Seminar on Jewish Environmental Education during which time they will participate in a formal JNF training program, receive resources and materials, and have the opportunity to take part in the conference at large.  Throughout the school year JNF Ambassadors will be provided with monthly action items which they will bring to their school to integrate Israel education into the curriculum in a timely and meaningful way.

YourPage for Teachers and Families

Plant Your Way to Israel

JNF’s Plant Your Way to Israel program allows students to raise money toward a trip to Israel by raising funds for forestry projects in Israel. Half of the donation will go to JNF to plant trees in Israel, and the other half will be placed in a special account on the student’s behalf to be redeemed to help pay for a trip to Israel with family, a youth group or school. A New Leaf and Growing UP! Newsletters

A New Leaf is a colorful educational newsletter for students in grades 1-4, provided by generous JNF donors at no cost to schools, three times a year. It features stories, games, puzzles, crafts and recipes. Growing UP! is a newsletter for bar and bat mitzvah-age students stressing Jewish values and active responsibility also provided at no cost to schools. To order, contact us at

Blue Box Bob

Parent or teacher volunteers dressed as Blue Box Bob visit students in grades pre-K - 4, connecting them to modern Israel while teaching the history of our homeland with age-appropriate educational materials. Sign up for the Blue Box Bob Birthday Club! E-mail us at to find out more!

World Water Monitoring Day

October 18th has been declared International World Water Monitoring Day. JNF, through a grant from the United States Forest Service, encourages schools throughout the US and Israel to participate in this exciting program. To register, go to For funding opportunities, download pdf.

Tu BiShvat in the Schools

Celebrating the New Year for Trees is a great way for students to connect with the land of Israel. Observe the holiday by planting trees in Israel. Then hold a Tu Bi’Shvat seder with the special JNF Haggadah available online, students have the opportunity to learn about the spiritual and environmental significance of Tu BiShvat. Let Us Play!

Last year 200 schools from across the country raised over $130,000 to help the children of Sderot by building the JNF Sderot Recreation Center. Although the Center is now open and providing a safe place to play for 600 kids and community members each day, the work is far from complete. Continue the work you started last year or begin a tzedakah initiative to raise funds for needed toys, games, books, art materials, special programming and classes, therapy sessions and other resources for this important Recreation Center. This will be your school’s Chanukah gift to the children of Sderot. Sign-up and learn more at

Yom Ha’atzmaut, Israel Independence Day

JNF B'nai Mitzvah Guide

JNF offers you a variety of unique ways to celebrate your child’s bar/bat mitzvah, including customized invitations for your simcha that enable you to honor your guests by planting trees in Israel, an inscription in the JNF Honor Book in Jerusalem, and a dedication on the B’nai Mitzvah Remembrance Wall at American Independence Park near Jerusalem.  Learn more at For funding opportunities, download pdf.

Gibborim: Military Heroes Tell the Story of Our Homeland

Gibborim is an education program designed for grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The curriculum consists of 10 short biographies of military heroes, each a springboard for learning about a different topic relating to Israel; a timeline; maps and videos. The Educator’s Guide also contains activities and additional resources for study. The educational components can be used as individual lessons or as part of a large ongoing learning opportunity. GoNeutral Education Programs

Students participating in JNF GoNeutral education programs (JNF Green Corps for middle school, JNF Green Team for high school, JNF on Campus for college) receive the Green Times Newsletter six times a year; learn about environmental issues; and work together on tikkun olam projects both locally and in Israel.

Caravan for Democracy, High School Edition

Caravan for Democracy High School Edition prepares Jewish teens for the anti-Israel sentiment they may face on their future college campuses. The program empowers teens with concrete skills, advocacy training and the ability to respond to anti-Israel rhetoric in an intelligent and informed manner. For funding opportunities, download pdf.

Alexander Muss Institute for Israel Education

JNF is proud to partner with the Alexander Muss High School in Israel in Hod Hasharon, Israel to promote participation in this outstanding eight-week fully accredited high school program offered five times a year for high school students. Caravan for Democracy

Caravan for Democracy drives constructive dialogue on college campuses throughout the United States by bringing different speakers from Israel and the U.S. to discuss the challenges Israel faces as the only democracy in the Middle East. Caravan for Democracy provides access to resources and opinions to encourage critical thinking about the issues affecting Israel, its commitment to peace, how it is covered in the media and its unique role in the region. Taglit-Birthright Israel: JNF/Shorashim Trips

Join JNF and Shorashim on your first trip to Israel! If you are between the ages of 18-26 and have never been on a peer trip to Israel, don’t miss this opportunity for a free 10-day Israel experience through Taglit-Birthright Israel. Enjoy the great outdoors of Israel, vist all of the amazing first-time sites, and experience Israel with Israelis!

Alternative Spring Break

Make your spring break meaningful with JNF! Answering the needs of the Jewish homeland, JNF sends college students and young adults to volunteer during their vacations, providing direct service and helping to build Israel through JNF’s Blueprint Negev campaign. Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME)

Colleges are the new front lines for the battle for Israel. SPME was founded by a group of concerned college professors and intellectuals to promote Israel's right to live in peace with its neighbors. Today, close to 40 campuses have active local SPME chapters, helping educate faculty to be mentors and resources for colleagues, students, campus professionals and community members. JNF and the Environment on Campus

JNF provides a unique opportunity for college students to connect to Israel through our role as a global environmental leader. JNF provides a campus Tu BiShvat seder and program guide to help students celebrate the holiday and continue the Jewish tradition of planting trees in Israel. Students can also receive bimonthly e-newsletters and meet with environmental leaders. Download this PDF to learn more about the program.

Sderot Playground “Let Us Play” Campus Campaign

Over the past few years, the Israeli communities on the border with Gaza have endured continual Kassam rocket attacks. In March 2009, JNF opened an all-inclusive Indoor Recreational Center to provide Sderot's youth with a place to have fun, connect with friends and be children beyond the conflict.

JNF’s “Let Us Play!” on Campus Campaign encourages students to raise money to support the operation of this facility which includes video and sports equipment, art and dance classes, as well as general maintenance and upkeep. To learn more about this program, download this PDF.
