REMEMBERING 9/11

9-11 Trees for Israel

On September 11, 2001, the unthinkable happened and 2,983 people were murdered in terrorist attacks that changed the world. The JNF-USA 9/11 Living Memorial was built outside of Jerusalem to remember and honor those 2,983 people and is the only memorial outside of the United States that lists the names of all those who died.

The memorial is a 30-foot tall sculpture made of granite, bronze and aluminum, and designed by award-winning Israeli artist Eliezer Weishoff. Shaped in the form of an American flag waving and then transforming into a flame, a metal shard from the ruins of New York City’s Twin Towers is embedded in the base. The sculpture sits in the center of a crater-like plaza.

Every year, Jewish National Fund-USA and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael hold a commemorative ceremony attended by Israelis, Americans, young and old.

This year we invite you to join us in remembering.
