Bio

Michael Oren is an American-born Israeli historian, author and former Ambassador to the United States. He was elected to the Knesset in 2015 for the Kulanu Party and is Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office. Oren has written several New York Times best-selling books on Middle East history and been a visiting professor at universities in the United States and in Israel. He was named one of the world’s ten most influential Jews by the Jerusalem Post.  Oren made Aliyah in 1979, was a paratrooper during the 1982 Lebanon War and continued reserve duty during Gaza engagements through 2009.
