Bio

Aili McConnon is an award-winning journalist who writes for the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. Her book Road to Valor – about an Italian cycling legend who secretly saved Jews during WWII – was a national bestseller, has been published in over 30 countries and was the recipient of several international prizes including The Canadian Jewish Book Award biography prize. The subject of the book – Gino Bartali – was made a Righteous Among Nations by Yad Vashem in 2013. McConnon has appeared on NPR, The Travel Channel, CBS, MSNBC, ABC and many other media outlets to discuss Gino Bartali’s story, sports and resilience, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies, with audiences of all ages.
