Bio

Michael Saywitz was born in Brooklyn and attended Michigan State University where he met his wife, Judy Utley. After their marriage in 1965, they moved to Chicago and went into the family retail business. Following a family move in 1982 to California, he continued
to develop commercial real estate, which his sons eventually joined him in. When he retired as chairman in 2009, he and Judy moved to Rancho Mirage. Today, his sons continue to operate the business and have expanded The Saywitz Company to be one of the largest family- owned commercial real estate companies in California. He has served on the boards of several banks in Illinois and California, and on the Republican Jewish Coalition of Orange County, Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce, Beth Jacob Congregation of Irvine, and National Mass Retailers Institute Michael was the Israel Bond recipient of the Prime Minister’s Medal of Honor, presented by Golda Meir. He is also a member of the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
