Senator Joyce Foster

Bio

Joyce Foster is a lifelong community activist. She served on the Jewish Family Service of Colorado board in 1976, and then spent 16 years on staff as the organization’s director of resource development and director of employment services. She later rejoined the board, serving as chair in 2005 and 2006. Joyce was the first Jewish woman elected to the Denver City Council, where she worked with several city agencies and developers to revitalize the University Hills Shopping Center. She served in the Colorado State Senate from 2008 to 2013. She received the ALLY Award in 2014 for her advocacy for LGBTQ Coloradoans.
