Bio

A native of Chicago, Lefkovits studied at University of Chicago, Hebrew University and then at the Sorbonne in Paris. While studying at Hebrew U, he worked as a Jerusalem research assistant to the bureau chief of a Japanese daily, the Asahi Shimbun. After university, Lefkovits served as senior assistant to former New York Times Jerusalem bureau chief Serge Schmemann. He then did his Israeli army service in the IDF as a military correspondent for the IDF magazine 'Bamahane'. From 2000-2009, he served as Jerusalem correspondent for the Jerusalem Post.  Over the last decade, Lefkovits has spoken at scores of American universities including Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.  His work from Poland has also been published in the International Herald Tribune.  In January 2013, he completed his MA in Middle East Studies from Tel Aviv University. Last year, Lefkovits served as an Israel and Middle East Fellow on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C, and am currently writing feature pieces for the Post's weekend Magazine.
