Bio

Fred Lazin is a visiting scholar at the Taub Center for Israel Studies at NYU, and former professor at Ben Gurion University in Israel, where he established an Interdisciplinary Urban Studies Program and the Department of General Studies, in addition to chairing the departments of both Behavioral Science and Politics and Government. He has taught politics and Israeli society at institutions around the world, including at Bordeaux University in France, the University of Sydney in Australia, and American University in Washington, D.C. He has authored dozens of scholarly articles and multiple books dealing with comparative public policy, Israeli politics and society, and Jews in American politics, including his book, The Struggle for Soviet Jewry in American Politics: Israel versus the American Jewish Establishment, for which he received the Israel Political Science Association's award.
