Bio

Dr. Amira Meir is the former Department Head of Biblical Studies at the Beit Berl College, where she coordinated the Tempus Iris Project, an initiative to increase collaboration between academic institutions in the EU and Israel. She has taught at universities in London, Rome, Jerusalem, Canada, and the U.S.. Her research centers on Medieval Jewish scholarship, the history of Jewish communities in Italy, the portrayal of women in the Bible, and commentary on Pentateuchal poetry. She is married to Ambassador Gideon Meir and has three children.
