Donations to be Matched on 'GivingTuesday'

New York, NY: Nov 19, 2019 – In honor of GivingTuesday (December 3rd), every gift made to Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF-USA) will be matched thanks to the generous contributions of the Gene & Marlene Epstein Humanitarian Fund, Bernice Friedman, and Drs. Toby and Mort Mower (up to $1.25 million).

“As we approach December 31st, many of us are thinking of ways to maximize our tax-deductible giving,” said JNF-USA President, Dr. Sol Lizerbram. “GivingTuesday comes at the perfect time for those considering donating to JNF-USA, especially as their donation will be matched. As in previous years, we expect to see the majority of donationsmade through our website at www.jnf.org and via our Facebook page, however, we are also hosting many community events throughout the country where our partners can make a gift in person while meeting inspirational changemakers from the U.S. and Israel.”

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea:  to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

JNF-USA is the leading philanthropic organization for Israel that supports critical environmental and nation-building activities in Israel’s north and south. Through its One Billion Dollar Roadmap for the Next Decade, JNF-USA is building housing sites in Israel’s north and south, providing fire trucks and stations, planting trees, creating employment opportunities, developing water infrastructure, and delivering ongoing therapeutic, emotional and psychological assistance. In addition, JNF-USA is boosting tourism, building medical centers, preserving heritage sites, supporting people with special needs, and funding groundbreaking research centers.

JNF-USA also recognizes that inspiring and engaging the next generation is vital. JNF-USA’s Israel Continuum is connecting and growing the future leaders in communities across the U.S. through JNFuture, Alternative Break, Campus Fellows, My Israel Tree, Sababa Society Fellowship, and the Alexander Muss High School – an American semester abroad program in Israel which prepares students for academic excellence in college. Together, these initiatives strengthen the connection between Israel and school students, college students, and young professionals.

“If you care about Israel, its people, and its future, there's nowhere better to give on GivingTuesday than JNF-USA. Not only is your donation 100% tax-deductible, you can also rest assured your gift is going to a consistently top-rated non-profit with accreditation from Charity Navigator and the Better Business Bureau,” said Lizerbram.
