A Taste of Israel: A Northern New Jersey Wine Tasting Experience

Join author of three award-winning cookbooks and a fifth-generation wine industry expert online with a glass of wine as you sip your way through Israel

NEW JERSEY, February 12, 2021— New Jersey wine lovers: put your kids to bed early and get the cheese and wineglasses ready! Join Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF-USA) on March 9 for a virtual wine tasting experience that is guaranteed to bring out your inner sommelier, even if you can’t tell a merlot from a pinot noir.

The virtual wine tasting, exclusive to residents in New Jersey, will be hosted by Joshua Greenstein, the Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Israel Wine Producers Association, also known as “the voice of the Israeli wine industry in America.” Traveling throughout the U.S., he educates consumers on the quality that Israeli wines offer, many of which are award-winning and highly rated within the international wine community.

Wine tasting participants will also enjoy a special guest appearance by Lior Lev Sercarz, spice blender and owner of La Boîte, a biscuits and spice shop in New York City and the Chief Culinary Officer and Co-Founder of the Galilee Culinary Institute by the Jewish National Fund (GCI by JNF). The talented chef who was recently seen on The Rachel Ray show and authored three award-winning cookbooks: “The Art of Blending,” “The Spice Companion,” and “Mastering Spice,” will give foodies and wine connoisseurs insight into a one-of-a-kind culinary institution that combines culinary and restaurant expertise, tourism, and entrepreneurship. Based in the heart of Israel’s Galilee, a mountainous region and micro-climate where fertile lands, mountains, and rivers create an unparalleled location for a thriving agricultural region, GCI by JNF is a total-immersion culinary institution.

“A wine tasting is always such a uniquely enjoyable experience, and we’re proud to be able to bring this event to the comfort of your own home,” said Bob Oppenheimer, Co-President of JNF-USA’s Northern New Jersey chapter. “Food and wine enthusiasts and amateurs alike will get to sip their way through the land of Israel while learning about the new culinary venture that’s going to shape the Galilee region into the ‘culinary capital of the world.’”

Wines to be sampled at the tasting include:

Flam Blanc 2019

Segal Whole Cluster Pinot Noir 2018

Covenant Blue C Adom 2016

*Wine will be available for pick up at a JNF-USA distribution center in Northern New Jersey (address provided upon registration).

You can register for the event at any time, but if you want to pre-order the wine in time to sample during the event, please register by February 25.
