Annual Breakfast for Israel to Unite Sarasota Jewish Community After October 7 Attacks
SARASOTA, Fla., January 29, 2024 — Jewish National Fund-USA’s leadership in Sarasota recently announced the organization’s signature annual event, Breakfast for Israel, will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at 10:00 am at The Ora.
The highly anticipated event will offer community members the opportunity to stand in solidarity with the people of Israel and highlight how they can make a difference in the lives of Israelis impacted by the October 7 atrocities in the short and long term.
The event, chaired by the Co-Presidents of Jewish National Fund-USA’s Sarasota Board of Directors Peter Kretzmer and Esther Rose, and Edie Chaifetz, will also focus on how Jewish National Fund-USA plans to rebuild communities together with global volunteers so evacuees can once again call the Israel Envelope (formerly known as the Gaza Envelope) home.
Featured speaker, Jewish National Fund-USA CEO Russell F. Robinson, says organizations and individuals everywhere must unite and become architects to create a bright new future for the Jewish homeland. Among other topics, Robinson will discuss Jewish National Fund-USA’s Israel Resilience Campaign (jnf.org/supportisrael), which has raised over $50 million since October 7, 2023, and has supported the evacuation and relocation of tens of thousands of residents in Israel’s South while providing thousands more with housing, food, clothing, and other supplies.
The campaign also includes a new bold and strategic plan, Livnot B'Yachad - Build Together, which will create a secure, beautiful haven in the region and include projects like new housing, fresh coats of paint, beautiful parks, repaved roads, and more.
“We’re not certain how long Israel’s war with Hamas will last, but one thing is certain — the Jewish People will not stand idly by while our brothers and sisters suffer from afar,” said Peter Kretzmer and Esther Rose. “We will act now, together, to provide them with immediate aid while simultaneously planning how we’re going to heal the land and people of Israel brick by brick.
